Pittsburgh Marathon | spring ’21

This is the fifth exciting year of partnership with the PGH Marathon & Brooks Running. Each year the Brooks team tries to capture the unique personality of the steel city in a new aesthetic approach.


For the 2021 concept, we drew inspiration from the very layout of the city as our literal theme. A bit of sketchbook whimsy was transformed into the final design. A wraparound skyline graphic is engineered for the Brooks logo “path” to visualize the start & finish of the race. The the toe box region of the graphic even spotlights the iconic Point State park fountain. Bridges formalize the distinct identity of the city, also adding in a punch of the characteristic yellow accent.
